Teller County Animal Rescue (TCAR) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help abused and neglected horses in Teller and Park Counties, Colorado.
Through education and information, TCAR wants to help horse owners properly care for their horses to avoid the abuse and neglect situations that require rescue intervention.

Success Stories
Working with the Teller County Animal Control, Park County Animal Control, and local veterinarians, TCAR has restored over a dozen horses over the last few years.
Horses that arrive at TCAR typically score below a 2 on the US horse-scoring scale, which means they are little more than skin and bones.
Through the TCAR treatment program, it’s often possible to restore such horses back to health, allowing us to adopt them out to new homes. But in some cases, continuous treatment is needed, and the horse must live out its life at TCAR.
